Joel A.
Beland
d. Apr 4, 2020
Fairhaven
With deepest sorrow, the family of Joel A. Beland, 40, of Fairhaven, announce his peaceful passing on April 4, 2020, in the arms of his wife Roselie (Skrutski) Beland. Born and raised in Fall River, Joel resided in Fairhaven for the last fifteen years. A graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, he worked in the local construction industry for many years and was a member of Laborer's Union 385, of Fairhaven. Joel loved riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, his two rottweilers, Nikita and Diesel, and loved outdoor-related adventures, especially camping and survival skills with his wife and children. He always told a good joke and had the most infectious laugh.
Joel is survived by his parents, Richard F. Beland, and Kathleen M. (Cook) & Richard McMann all of Fall River. Joel and Roselie shared five children, Cole Beland of North Dartmouth, Abigail and Madison Beland of Fall River, and Breána and Nathan Spellman of Fairhaven. Also surviving him are: a stepsister Carla and her husband Wes Briggs, a stepbrother Derek and his wife Nicole McMann; parents-in-law, Pamela and Robert Gomes; two sisters-in-law, Kerri Sousa and Heather Skrutski; three nieces, Madison Skrutski, Morgan Melo, and Sofia Briggs; a nephew, Gabriel Melo; aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be terribly missed by his lifelong friends that were more like brothers, Rick & Mike Rego, and their familes, and Jamie Transue.
Cremation Arrangements with Silva-Faria Funeral Home were private due to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. At a later date, when the current crisis allows, the family is planning to hold a Celebration of Joel's Life, which will be announced here. Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. But because of the pandemic, all are kindly urged to express sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that the family receives any online condolences that you may wish to submit, please do so only at the funeral home's website [www.silvafaria.com] and not through a third party. Thank you!
