Obituary

John L.M. Botelho, 73, of Fall River and husband of Maria Gabriela (Medeiros Sousa) Botelho, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Joao M. Botelho and the late Luisa (Placido) Botelho. He was also a proud veteran of the Portuguese Army.

Prior to his retirement, he was co-owner of Jenson Manufacturing for many years. He loved camping, cooking, gardening, and traveling extensively.  A friendly and social man, John was also very knowledgeable and could fix just about anything. He was a master mechanic, a metal fabricator, and an HVAC expert. But most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with all his family, especially his sons and grandchildren.

Besides his loving wife of forty-nine years, he leaves: his two sons, John S. Botelho and his wife, Maguina (Sardinha), and Daniel S. Botelho and his companion, Stefanie Picard, both of Fall River; his four grandchildren, Brenden D.L. Botelho, Zachary S. Botelho, Ethan J. Botelho, and Joshua S. Botelho; two brothers, Joseph Botelho of Fall River and Emmanuel Botelho and his wife, Maureen, of Tiverton; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Victor Botelho.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 2nd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in John's memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959
