John C. De Costa, 72, of Fall River, formerly of Somerset, died Monday, May 19, 2008 unexpectedly at home. Born in Fall River, son of the late Antone & Catherine (St. George) De Costa, he resided in Somerset most of his life, living in Fall River for the past 10 years. A merchant seaman for 20 years, he was also a laborer in the local construction industry for many years. He served in the Navy for 4 years. He enjoyed fishing and Foxwoods. He is sadly missed by sister, Catherine M. Ciullo and brother, Raymond De Costa, both of Fall River. His funeral Mass was celebrated at St. John of God Church in Somerset. Pallbearers Michael Picossi Sr, Michael Picozzi Jr. Dominic Picozzi, Paul and Corey Lane and Robert Ferreira brought John to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
