John D. Enloe, Sr., 75, formerly of Fall River, husband of the late Dorothy (Ferreira) Enloe and longtime companion of Carol Pimental, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Waynesville, Missouri, he was a son of the late James M. Enloe and the late Myrtle L. (Holdermen) Enloe.
A United States Navy Veteran (machinist mate), he bravely and proudly served his Country aboard the USS Grand Canyon from 1965-1969. Prior to his retirement he worked for the City of Fall River as a Backflow Prevention Specialist for many years. An avid reader, especially of mystery novels, he also loved fishing, cooking, gardening, and trips to the casino. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Parish where he ran the Boy Scouts, youth group, and cooked for retreats. Most importantly John enjoyed spending quality time with all of his family.
Besides his longtime companion, he leaves his loving children, John Darrell Enloe, Jr., and his wife, Stephanie, of Fall River, and Jayme R. Chippendale (late husband, Paul) of Swansea; his grandchildren, Sarah Enloe-Pelletier (Shane), Julia Enloe-Kelley (Christopher), Jillianne Chippendale, Maddison Chippendale, Isaac Tieze, and Bella Pimental; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert L. Enloe, Kenneth W. Enloe, Virginia Vozniak, James M. Enloe, Jr., Paul R. Enloe, Claude A. Enloe, and Frances M. Adkison.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 15th, in Holy Name Church followed by his committal with military honors at Notre Dame Cemetery.
