John Figerie, 79, of Tiverton, R.I., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA. Born and raised in Tiverton, he was the son of the late Joseph Figerie and Sophie (Aguiar) Figerie.

Prior to his retirement he worked as a mechanic at Pearson Yachts for many years and as a landscaper in the Newport area. A U.S. Army Veteran, joining at the age of eighteen, he loved talking about his time he spent in the service. He also enjoyed working on his cars, and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by: his daughter, Cathy Jean Figerie, and grandson, Andrew Kalwak, both of Portsmouth; his sister, Emily Krauzyk and her husband, Adam "Ski", of Tiverton; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Shirley Souza and Katherine Figerie and brother-in-law of the late Antone Souza.

Now he is at peace, reminiscing with his family and friends, especially with his late Uncle John Aguiar. They were a year apart and grew up together. Surely, they're talking about the good old days when they were young, riding around in their favorite car, the "Little White Dove".
