John C. Luz, 81, of Fall River, passed away on April 26, 2024, at Mission Care Hospice of Holyoke, MA, after an illness. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Joseph C. Luz and the late Aldina (Farias) Luz.
He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps for a short time during the early 1960s. A laborer and contractor in the local construction industry for many years, Local 610 member, a boxer, and a jockey, John was multitalented. A longtime member of the Boys and Girls Club, he also enjoyed playing handball.
He is survived by two siblings, Helen Luz of Fall River and Antone Luz of Seekonk, and many nieces and nephews. John was also a brother of the late Joseph C. Luz, George "Happy" Luz, Edward C. Luz, and James C. Luz.
Following a private cremation, His Memorial Service with Military Honors was held on Wednesday, May 8th, during a visitation period in our Fall River Chapel. His cremains were buried privately at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
