John M. Medeiros, 68, of North Dighton, passed away Tuesday after an extended illness. He was the husband of Maria (Pereira) Medeiros. with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Povoacao, he was the son of Manuel and Leontina Medeiros of Dighton. A contractor, he owned and operated J M Medeiros & Son, Inc. for many years. John is also survived by his son, John M. Medeiros, Jr. of North Dighton; grandchildren, Tara, John and Lauren and many nieces and nephews. His funeral was held on Friday (4/10) with Prayers of Final Commendation in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Committal services followed at the Notre Dame Mausoleum where he was entombed. His Pro-Burial Mass was celebrated Monday, April 13 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. His pallbearers were John and Chris Medeiros, Steve Furtado, Louis Pereira, Ernest and Tom Silva.
