John O. Botelho, 88, of Fall River, husband of Adelaide (Teixeira) Botelho, died Sunday 5/20/12 at home after an illness. Born in Fall River, son the late August & Maria (Camara) Botelho. He worked at the former Plymouth Rubber, as a forklift operator in the export department for many years, retiring in 1985. He also served as a crossing guard for his parish' school, Espirito Santo. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and supporting them in their sports activities. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. Besides his wife, of 60 years, he leaves: a daughter, Maureen Botelho, & a sister, Mary Medeiros, both of Fall River; 2 grandchildren, Jason Botelho & Robin Blanchette; 3 great grandchildren, Lexie, Jason & Hannah; several nieces and nephews; & dogs, Zak & Sparky. Also brother of the late Augustinho Oliveira, Beatrice Baldaia, Joseph & Manuel Botelho. His funeral Mass was celebrated at Espirito Santo Church. He was laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery.
