Obituary

John M. Pacheco, 78, of Somerset, passed away peacefully in the comforts of his home on Sunday, November 26, 2023 following a brief illness. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late John Pacheco and the late Cecilia (Medeiros Grota) Pacheco.

Prior to his retirement he was a dedicated employee at the Bedford VA Hospital for over thirty-five years. A United States Army Veteran, he proudly and bravely served his Country during Vietnam. A very talented Master Barber, he also loved Elvis, Westerns, Corvettes, and his daily three-mile walks through his neighborhood. John was a devout Catholic, a long-time parishioner of St. John of God Church and faithfully attended Mass. But what John enjoyed most was spending quality time with family, especially his grandchildren, making breakfast, biscoits, and cinnamon buns for all of them.

He leaves his loving children, Brenda Aguiar and her husband, Michael, of Swansea, Beth Deschene (late husband, Paul) of Somerset, and John G. Pacheco of Somerset; his seven grandchildren, Nichole Aguiar, Jordan Pacheco, Chelsea Pacheco, Joseph Creador, Brian Creador, Noah Pacheco, and Sean Pacheco; five great-grandchildren, Anthony Dias, Joeson Creador, Jayce Pacheco, Rhodes Creador, and Adrien Dias; one sister, Mary Novo and her husband, Frank, of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews. He was  predeceased by his daughter, the late Melanie Creador, his grandson, the late Robert Creador, and two  brothers.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, December 1st, at Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal with Military Honors at Notre Dame Cemetery both in Fall River.
