Obituary

John A. Perry Jr., 50, of Westport passed away on June 19th, 2025 unexpectedly at work. Raised in Fall River, he was the son of Mary Sue (Tharpe) Medeiros and John A. Perry Sr. and step-son of Fatima Perry and the late Augustine Medeiros. Johnny will be remembered by friends and family in the things he loved. Things like re-watching the same movies over and over because there was always something new to find. Or going for a drive with the windows down to the beach to watch the waves and listen to music. An avid Boston sports fan, he will be remembered during every game, win or lose. His infectious laugh and sarcastic jokes will be dearly missed, but stories of his best times will live on forever in those he loved. He will always be remembered for his hard work and for always being there when it mattered. Of all the roles John had in his life there was no role he loved more than being a father. He leaves behind his two loving children, Tyler John Perry, 28, of Westport and Fallon Jade Perry, 22, also of Westport. From coaching his son's Maplewood team to attending father-daughter dances with his daughter, John did it all with nothing but love and admiration of his children. There was nothing that made him prouder than seeing them grow. Apart from his children, John leaves behind: his mother and father; 2 sisters, Stephanie Perry (husband Dave Oliveira) and Shelley Ducharme (husband Gary Ducharme); 1 niece Zoie Vieira-Perry and 1 nephew Kyle Ducharme. He also leaves behind his closest friends and brothers who also meant the world to him, they know who they are.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, June 28th, at Our Lady of Grace Church followed by his committal at Maple Grove Cemetery, both in Westport.
