Obituary

John Rodrigues, 91, of Westport, husband of Cynthia (Botelho) Rodrigues, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Antone Rodrigues and the late Maria de Gloria (Felecia) Rodrigues.

Prior to his retirement he was a bus driver for SERTA Bus for many years and was also a retired teamster Local 251. An avid golfer and member of Montaup Country Club, John also enjoyed going on cruises, traveling to such places as Aruba and St. Martin, and socializing with his friends at Simlpy Simons Restaurant in Swansea. He was also a long-time member of the Liberal Club and of A Wish Come True organization.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves: his children, John Rodrigues, Jr., and his wife, Sheila, of Tiverton, and Nancy Carvalho and her husband, Hildeberto, of Fall River; five grandchildren, Eric Carvalho, Tonya Nunes, Stacey Carvalho, John Rodrigues, and Seth Rodrigues; four great-grandchildren, Summer Carvalho, Elizabeth Spallone, Dakota Whittington, and Lexandra Nunes; his beloved dog, "Lady"; and several nieces and nephews.

Following his cremation, John's Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, July 1st, in Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport, followed by a private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
