Jose M. Almeida, 91, of Jencks St., passed away Thursday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Husband of the late Maria (Amaral) Almeida. Born in Portugal, son of the late Artur and Maria (de Jesus) Martins. He loved tending to his garden, daily walks around the city and attending daily mass. Beloved father of Paula James and James Almeida; grandfather of Daniel James, Markus Almeida and Alena Almeida; brother of Manuel, Joaquim, Antonio, Adelaide and Aurora Martins, Rosa Martins Pinto and the late Alfonso, Mario and Amadeu Martins. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, December 17, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
