Jose C. Cordeiro, 71, of Fall River, husband of Maria Luisa (Rego Benjamin) Cordeiro, passed away at home, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, Jose was a son of the late Jose Cordeiro, and the late Maria da Conceicao (Machado) Cordeiro.

Prior to retirement, Jose worked as a laborer for M. SACA and sons. An avid soccer fan, Jose loved watching his team SPORTING play with his friends at the local Portuguese bars. Most notably, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Besides his loving wife Maria, Jose leaves his son, Jose C. Cordeiro, Jr, of Fall River; granddaughter Sophia Cordeiro; his siblings, Eugenia Pereira, of Swansea, Ana Tavares, of Fall River, Lucia Campos, of Connecticut, Luisa Braga, of Fall River, Ana Bela Cordeiro, of Fall River, Luis Cordeiro, of Fall River, Duarte Cordeiro, of Westport and Victor Cordeiro, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Jose is predeceased by his sister Leonor Roena and his brother Joao Cordeiro.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Visitation to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 7:30 am to 9:30 am.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. from Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Fall River. Committal and Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
