Jose P. Carvalho, 80, of Fall River, husband of Maria Gloria (Faria) Carvalho, passed away peacefully on Sunday. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Irene (Caetano) Carvalho. A member of local 610, he worked for J.F. White Contracting of Framingham for many years before his retirement. Jose loved his long walks, fishing, vacationing at his home in the Azores, and making his own wine. But most importantly, he cherished the time he spent with his family. Besides his loving wife of 60 years, he leaves his children: Fatima Gouveia (husband-Joseph), Lori Gonsalves, Susan Rodrigues, and Theresa Carvalho (fiancé-David LaFlamme) all of Fall River, Donna Viveiros (husband-Manny) of Westport, Diane Medeiros (husband-John) of Swansea, Sandra Gouveia (husband-Jose) of R.I., and Joseph Carvalho (wife-Virginia) of Somerset; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Angelo Carvalho; sisters: Gilda Araujo, Maria Elena Cabral, Hilda DaSilva, and Theresa Segalla; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Jose and Manuel Carvalho and brother of the late Manuel Carvalho and Maria Salvador. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 30th, in Espírito Santo Church followed by his committal at Norte Dame Cemetery.
