Jose Carvalho Silva, 92, of Fall River, husband of the late Rosa (Pontes) Silva, passed away peacefully on Thursday at the Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Fenais da Luz, St.Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Luis and Georgina (Silva) Carvalho. He was a tailor for Anderson Little for many years prior to his retirement. Jose had a good sense of humor and was also a very hard worker who provided his family with everything they needed. What he enjoyed most in life was simply spending time with his loving family. He leaves, his children, Luis A. Silva and his wife Mary L. of Swansea, Joseph F. Silva and his wife Goretti of Swansea, Carlos M. Silva and his wife Mary of Westport, and Lucy Camara and her husband Messias of Dartmouth; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Jaime and Luis Carvalho. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, September 10th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
