Jose Amancio DaLuz, age 69, of Westport, Massachusetts, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. He was the husband of Rafaela DaLuz. Born in the village of Furnas, on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, he was the son of the late Jose DaLuz and the late Zulmira (Verissimo) DaLuz. After residing in the Azores for twenty five years, he immigrated to Fall River in 1970, and was the owner operator of the former Micaelense Bakery for nearly 30 years. Jose was a communicant of Santo Christo Church and was a veteran of the Portuguese Army. In addition to Rafaela, his wife of 44 years, surviving family members include three sons; Nelson DaLuz (wife Becky) of Schwenksville, PA, Glenn DaLuz and Scott DaLuz, both of Westport, a daughter, Colleen DaLuz of Westport, two brothers; Luis DaLuz of Sao Miguel, and Sal DaLuz of New Bedford, three sisters; Liduina Bandarra of London, Ontario, CN , Emily Tavares of Phoenix, AZ, and Paula Farias, also of Phoenix, four grandchildren; Dylan DaLuz, Lucy DaLuz, Magnus DaLuz and Zane DaLuz, all of Pennsylvania, his mother-in-law, Conceicao Frias of Bristol, RI, two brothers-in-law, Frank Frias of Bristol, and Paul Frias of Barrington, RI, and many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, July 7th in Santo Christo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
