Jose Raposo Faria, 83, of Fall River, husband of Mariana (Pacheco) Faria, died Tuesday 6/7/11 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in St Michael, Azores, son of the late Luis & Maria A. (Vultao) Raposo Farias, he emigrated to Fall River in 1968. Employed for many years in the local textile industry, and also in the construction business, he retired in 1988. Besides his wife of 54 years, he leaves: 2 sons, Jose L. Farias (wife Adelaide) of Fall River, and Paul G. Farias (wife Tracy) of Swansea; 1 brother, Germano Farias of Fall River; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Alfred, Manuel & Luis Farias, and Maria B. Pacheco. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St Anthony of Padua Church. He was laid to rest in Notre Dame Cemetery.
