Jose (Joe) Eduardo Fernandes, 53, of Fall River, unexpectedly passed away at home on Wednesday December 13, 2023. Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the only child of Maria Agueda (Barbosa) Fernandes of Fall River and the late Fernando R. Fernandes. As a teenager he emigrated with his family to Fall River from Toronto, Canada, where he had resided as a child.
Working in the computer field as a technician for many years, he was most recently employed with Spencer Technologies of Medway, MA, for about 4 years – providing information technology professional services to various businesses. Joe always enjoyed music and had even taught himself guitar. He also enjoyed shooting pool and was an avid hockey fan, having played the sport in his younger days.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his loving daughter, Madeline Fernandes of Plainfield, CT, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, December 22nd, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
