Jose Inacio Oliveira, 72, of Berkley, husband of Maria (Arruda) Oliveira, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010. at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a very brief illness. Born in Sao Vicente Ferreira, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Manuel & Rosa (Faria) Oliveira, he emigrated to Fall River in 1953. Original owner of Oliveira's Bakery of Alden St in the 1960s, he was also employed with various construction companies for many years, retiring from D'Ambra Construction, and was a member of Laborers Union Local 271. Besides his wife, he is survived by: 5 children, Dr. Theresa Oliveira of New Hampshire, Karen Medeiros of Acushnet, Joseph Oliveira of Tiverton, Daniel Oliveira of Berkley and Paul Oliveira of Fall River; 8 siblings, Luiza Frazier & Christine Buchanan both of Tiverton, Albertina Travers, Mary L. Santos & Teresa Gillette all of Fall River, Mariana Camara of Westport, and Manuel & John Oliveira both of Swansea; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Connie Sousa. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Bernard Church, Assonet. Pallbearers Richard Frazier, Jason Camara, Mark Gillette, David Oliveira, Scott Buchanan and Tommy Santos brought Jose to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
