Jose M. Cabral, 73, of Fall River, passed away Thursday after a courageous battle with cancer. Husband of Maria B. Cabral. They were married for 49 years after a courtship of 8 years. Born in Relva, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Francisco and Maria Cabral. A retired textile worker, over the years, Joe worked for the former Swan Finishing and United Merchant. After retirement, he worked part time for Bank Five for several years. He was a former board member of St. John's Athletic Club and an avid Benfica fan. Beloved father of John F. Cabral (wife-Sandi) of Swansea and Bob Cabral (wife-Denise) of Middleboro; grandfather of twins, Kylie and Kayden Cabral; brother of the late Joao Cabral and Isabel Fagundo. He also leaves 3 sisters-in-law, Rosa Tavares, Margaret Duarte and Maria Cabral; a brother-in-law, Victor Fagundo; several nieces and nephews "all children of his heart". His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, November 30th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
