Jose M. Martins, 65, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday. He was the husband of Idalinha (Sardinha) Martins, with whom he shared almost 36 years of marriage. Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Antonio and Maria Agusta (Ferreira) Martins. A laborer in construction for many years, Jose was an avid Sporting Soccer fan and belonged to the Our Lady of Light Band Club. Besides his wife, Jose is survived by his children, Brian Martins and his wife Emily of Fall River, Gary Martins and his wife Alissa of Swansea and Raquel Hynes and her husband Donald of Somerset; a sister, Maria de Conceicao Martins Pereira of Capelas, St. Michael; grandchildren, Stella Martins, Kylie Hynes and Noah Martins; and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 13th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
