Jose Maria da Estrela Martins, 66, of Westport, passed away Monday after a brief illness surrounded by family and friends. Born in Aqua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Duarte and Maria Martins. He was the proud owner of Joe Martins Landscaping Co. for the past 25 years. Beloved father of Erica Pereira (husband-Tony) and Jennifer Chaves (husband-Derek) both of Westport and Brian Martins (wife-Stephanie) of Fall River; grandfather of Avery, Ethan and Brandon; brother of Carmen Ferraz of Fall River, Fernanda Galvao and Armando Martins both of Somerset, Almerinda Correia of Dartmouth and the late Manuel, Arthur and Fernando Martins; nephew of Manuel and Olympia Martins. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, May 29th in Espirito Santo Church. Cremation followed.
