Jose Matias, 67, of Fall River, died Wednesday after a long illness. Husband of the late Maria Jose (Perreira) Matias. Born in Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Jose Matias and Evangelina (Andrade) Ferreira formerly Matias. Joe had worked at the Shawmut Mills in West Bridgewater for over 30 years. Father of Steven, Dennis, Michael, Chris and Michelle Matias; grandfather of Erica, Sean, Alyssa, Joshua, Kyle, Haley, Marissa, Mason and Jayda Matias; brother of Viriato and Virginio Ferreira and the late Trindade Matias. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church Committal service was held at St. John's Cemetery, New Bedford.
