Jose Quental, 101, of Fall River, husband of the late Cisaltina (Cordeiro) Quental, died peacefully surrounded by family Saturday 3/19/11 at Highlander Nursing Home. Born in Camacha, Madeira, son of the late Alexander & Isabel (Nunes) Quental, he emigrated to Fall River in 1969 and worked at the former Aluminum Processing (now Lightolier) for several years, retiring in 1976. A sports fan, he loved his Red Sox and Benfica. He was a member of the former Our Lady of the Angels Church. Preceded in death by 2 sisters & a brother, he leaves: 4 children, Ramiro (wife-Maria), John (wife-Elaine) & Antonio (wife-Maria) Quental, and Adriana (husband-Jose) Barbosa, all of Fall River; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, March 23, at Good Shepherd Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
