Jose M. Raposo, 81, of Fall River, husband of Fernanda (Dias) Raposo, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 28, 2021. Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Francisco Raposo and the late Dina (Mateus) Raposo.

He was a veteran of the Portuguese Army and a mailman in the Azores. Upon emigrating to Fall River in 1970 with his family, he worked as an auto mechanic with Silvia & Davis Auto Repair, formerly of Fall River, until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, soccer, especially the Sporting team, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Besides his wife of 55 years, he is survived by: two children, Ivone Medeiros (husband James) of Somerset and Francisco Raposo (wife Kerrie) of Westport; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Gilberta Ferreira and Eduarda Piques survived by her husband, Manuel, a long-time friend.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, June 3rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
