Jose Santos, 77, of Fall River, husband of Estrela (Medeiros) Santos, died at St. Anne's Hospital Monday 3/9/15 after a long illness. Born in St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Jose C. & Ana C. (Farias) Santos, he emigrated to Fall River in 1962. He worked in the local construction industry, a member of the Laborer's Union Local 876 retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. John's Athletic Club and enjoyed gardening and wine-making. Besides his wife, of 50 years, he leaves: 5 children, Dennis (wife Sue), Joseph (wife Donna), Robert, Ronald & Ana Santos all of Fall River; 4 siblings, Linda Medeiros of Toronto, Canada, Antonio & John Santos both of Fall River, and Mary Jo Santos-Hall of Somerset; 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Jacqueline & Savannah; several nieces & nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 14th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
