Jose M. Sousa, 82, formerly of Jencks St., passed away on January 26, 2010 after a long illness. Husband of Evelina (Oliveira) Sousa. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Jose and Sarah (Medeiros) Sousa. He was a retired construction laborer. He was father of Norman (wife-Ana) and Larry (wife-Anna) Sousa, Margarida (husband-Paul) Carreiro, Octavia (husband-Paul) Bernardo and the late Joseph Richard Sousa (wife-Natalie); grandfather of Philip, Nathan, Kerry Ann, Stephanie, Brittany and Kyle Sousa, Elizabeth Pereira and Nigel Carreiro; great grandfather of Mikayla, Zachary, Logan and Jacob; brother of Maria Alda Medeiros and the late Manuel Sousa. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua. Jose was laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery.
