Jose C. Travassos, 74, of Fall River, husband of Coralia C. (Branco) Travassos, passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, May 14, 2021 after a short illness. Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio Travassos and the late Leontina (Pereira) Travassos.

He emigrated to the United States in 1971 and resided in Fall River most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he was employed in textiles, working at Duro Industries for 32 years. He enjoyed soccer and his favorite team was Benfica.

Besides his wife, of almost 50 years, he is survived by: two children, Elda M. Costa (husband Jesse) of Fall River and Joseph C. Travassos (wife Carla) of Assonet; one sister Maria Jose Tomé of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; four grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Abigail, and Hailey; several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Cremilde Martins, Manuel Travassos, and Jaime Travassos.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 18th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
