Jose C. Valerio, 86, husband of Maria (Sousa) Valerio, of Fall River, died Friday 2/21/14 at St Anne's Hospital. Born in St Michael, Azores, son of the late Jose & Deolida (da Costa) Valerio, he emigrated to Fall River in 1960. A construction laborer and proud member of Union Local 610 for 52 years, he was known for his hard work, always giving of his time on construction projects for friends, and enjoyed his gardening. Besides his wife, of 60 years, he leaves: 4 sons, Louis (wife Pat), Peter (wife Paula), Jose & Michael (wife Lynn) Valerio; 2 grandchildren, Joey & Nicole; several nieces & nephews. Also father of the late Lucy Valerio; and predeceased by 7 siblings. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, February 25, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St Patrick Cemetery.
