Jose M. Velho, 84, formerly of Second St. Fall River, husband of the late Mariana F. (Albernaz) Velho, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Francisco Velho and the late Maria Loudes (Martins) Velho, he emigrated to Fall River in 1974,

He had worked for many years in the local textile industry, employed as a machine technician/oiler, retiring from (the former) Quaker Fabric in 2003.

He is survived by: seven children, Joe Velho (wife Irene), John Velho (wife Madeline), Lee Pereira (husband Gil), Connie Cabral (husband Eduardo), Tony Velho (wife Maria), Carlos Velho (late wife Norma), and Paul Velho; two siblings, Carlos Velho and Immaculate Velho Costa; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Tiffany, Vanessa, Sabrina, Sarah, Jesseca, and Zachary; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late John and Tony Velho.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 15th, in St. Mary's Cathedral followed by his committal at in St. Patrick Cemetery both in Fall River.
