Joseph M. Aguiar, 69, of Fall River, passed away on Monday. He was the husband of Maria M. (Pimentel) Aguiar, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Manuel and Maria de Jesus (Janeiro) Aguiar. Joseph served with the Portuguese Army for three years before emigrating to the U.S. Where he worked for many years as a foreman at Belfour Jewelry Mfg. In Attleboro. An active parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church, he and his wife sang in the church choir. Besides his wife, Joseph is survived by his brothers, Gilberto Aguiar, Amansio Aguiar and Joao Aguiar, all of RI; sisters, Maria Jose Vieira of Fall River, Mariana Benevides, Paixao Sousa and Grace Rodrigues, all of RI; and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 6, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
