Joseph Almeida, 72, of Fall River, husband of Shirley (Coe) Almeida, died on March 27, 2008 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, son of late Virgil & Amelia (Carreiro) Almeida, he worked in the local textile industry for many years until retiring in 1993. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Vietnam Era. A member of the Sportsman's Club, Tiverton, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. Father of Jewel Sousa of Fall River, Joseph Gordon & Lisa Hug both of Florida; brother of Norman Almeida of Swansea, and the late Virgil Almeida; grandfather of Nichole & Jessica Sousa. He also leaves several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a great grandchild on the way. Relatives and friends attended a Memorial Mass which was held at Good Shepherd Parish Church.
