Joseph M. Botelho, 67, of Fall River, husband of Lucia M. (Oliveira) Botelho, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Jose Resendes Botelho and the late Dorvalina (Cabral) Botelho, he emigrated to Fall River with his family when he was young.

He was employed for many years at Bacon Felt of Taunton, then worked for several years at the Venus de Milo restaurant in Swansea, retiring in 2014. An avid soccer fan, Porto was his favorite team. With his handyman skills, Joseph was able to fix anything around the house; and he especially enjoyed assisting in construction projects for family and friends.

Besides his wife, of 43 years, he is survived by: a daughter, Stephanie Botelho of Fall River; a sister, Delia Paiva of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by several siblings.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, January 22nd, in St. Michael Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
