Joseph S. Carvalho, 77, of Westport, husband of the late Helen J. (Oliver) Carvalho, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2023 in the comforts of his home following a long illness. Born in Santa Barbara, Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Carvalho and the late Maria dos Santos (Casmiro) Carvalho.

Prior to his retirement he was a finish carpenter for Horner Millwork for many years. A United States Army Veteran, he proudly and bravely served our Country during the Vietnam era. A very hard worker, he was considered to be a "jack of all trades" and could fix just about anything. He loved riding his Harley, the outdoors, and taking care of his fish pond. Most importantly, Joseph was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed spending quality time with all of his family.

He is survived by his son, Joseph D. Carvalho and his wife, Alexis; his two grandchildren; one great-grandson; his sisters, Mary Oliveira, Edwina Aguiar, Angie Freitas, Fern Carvalho, and Terry Agusto; brothers, Antone and Henry Carvalho;  and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Jennifer L. Carvalho.

His Funeral Service was on Wednesday, January 3rd, in our Fall River Chapel followed by his committal at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River.
