Joseph J. Costa, 78, of Tiverton, passed away Sunday peacefully surrounded by his family. Husband of Maria Adeline (Ferreira) Costa, to whom he was married for 55 years. Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Roies) Costa. Joe was the founder and owner of the former Fall River Forms for over 45 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4753, a life member of the Liberal Club and an active communicant of St. Theresa's Church, where he was the founder of St. Theresa's Holy Ghost Feast. Joe was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with his family and friends. He followed his father's tradition of making wine from his father's vineyard from which the entire family looked forward to each year. Instilling in everyone's heart is his favorite quote "And the fruit will outdo what the flowers have promised". He loved taking care of his garden and his fruit trees and everyone benefited from his labor of love. He was the beloved father of Joseph Costa, Jr. (partner-Robert), Michael Costa (wife-Michelle), Donna M. Jordan and Sandra L. Furtado (husband-Kevin). His grandchildren, Olivia and Nicholas Costa and Tyler Jordan were the pride and joy of Joe's life. The legacy of his kind spirit and zest for life will live on through them forever. He was the brother of John Costa, Delores Roies and the late Manuel and Michael Costa. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 4th, in St. Theresa Church in Tiverton followed by his committal at at Notre Dame Cemetery.
