Joseph Dias, Jr., 87, of Fall River, passed away on October 10, 2008 after a long illness. Husband of Josephine (Wal) Dias. Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph and Elvira (Viveiros) Dias. A Navy Veteran of WW II, Joe was also a retired Fall River police officer. Father of Cynthia Nunes (husband-Emanuel), Jo-Ann Fratelli (husband-Louie), Nancy Dias and Michael Croley, Sr. Grandfather of John DeSantis, Richard Joseph Nunes, Louie and Kelly Fratelli, Michael Croley, Jr. and Laura Flannery. Great grandfather of Dylan, Derek, Anthony and Julia. Brother of the late Manuel (Pic), Umberto (Herbie) and Americo (Mac) Dias and Edwina Machado. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. His burial and committal service were private.
