Joseph Richard Farias, 73, of Tiverton, RI, husband of Deborah M. (Andrade) Farias, passed away on April 2, 2026, at Hope Health Hospice. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Manuel Farias and the late Caroline (Mello) Farias.

Joseph was a member of the Army's 101st Airborne. After his time served, he graduated from Bristol Community College where he also taught Computer Programming. His career highlights include Brown and Shop, Providence Gas Company and National Grid where he worked in the Computer Field as an IT Project Manager. Upon retirement from National Grid, he worked at Our Lady of Health Credit Union and the Providence VA Benefit Office. Joseph enjoyed his time on the golf course, bowling and playing cards. He cherished the time spent with his family.

Besides his wife Deborah, he leaves his children, Richard J. Farias, of Tiverton, RI, Dawn M. Lourenco and her husband John, of Fall River, Heather C. Spangler and her husband Christopher, of Swansea; grandchildren, Avery, Logan and Riley; godchild, James Andrade; brother-in-law Brian Andrade; several nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his brother Richard Farias

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00 am from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered in St. Theresa's Church at 11:00 am. Committal Service and interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages giving the gift of life through blood or platelet donations or making a memorial contribution to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in honor of Joseph R. Farias.
