Joseph Ferreira, 90, of Westport, husband of Christine (Kouremeti) Ferreira, died Sat. 8/15/09 at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Portsmouth, RI, son of the late Manuel and Mary (Correia) Ferreira, he was a longtime resident of Tiverton, living in Westport for the past 3 years. An Army veteran of WWII, he was a carpenter for many years. Father of: Mary Ferreira (husband, George) of Charlottesville, VA, the late Margaret Leite (husband, Octave, of Westport) and the late Joseph Ferreira (wife, Pat, of Columbia, South Carolina). Brother of Mary Farias of Little Compton, RI. Grandfather of Kristina Carvalho and James Ferreira. Great-grandfather of Tabitha and Ashley. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His funeral arrangements were private.
