Joseph Furtado, 34, of Cranston, RI passed away on Thursday. Born in Fall River, son of Micheal Furtado of Tiverton, RI and Vivian (Farrar) Furtado of Groton, CT. A BMC Durfee High School Graduate, Class of 1996, he worked locally as an arborist. He loved the water, anything outdoors, especially walking in the woods, spending time with the children and was starting a new business tying survival bracelets and other items out of paracord. Besides his parents Joe is survived by his fiancée, Kelly L Cornwall of Cranston; former wife, Angela Vacchelli and son Sebastian Furtado-Vacchelli of Cranston; a daughter, Catherine Furtado of Cranston; stepdaughters, Elizabeth and Victoria also of Cranston; a brother, Dan Furtado of Saugus, MA; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Before his cremation, relatives and friends gathered to remember Joe at our Fall River Chapel on Tuesday, May 21. Please consider a donation in his memory to your favorite charity.
