Joseph Medeiros, 70, of Somerset, husband of Katherine A. (Sliwa) Medeiros, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River he was the son of the late Joseph P. Medeiros and the late Alda (Ramos) Medeiros.

A barber for over forty-five years, he was the proprietor of Main Street Barber Shop, 54 North Main Street in Fall River. He served honorably in the National Guard during the Vietnam Era. An avid outdoorsman, Joseph enjoyed golfing, competitive shooting, fishing, and archery.  He also enjoyed listening to music and playing guitar.  He was a longtime member of Montaup Country Club and a member of the New Bedford Rod & Gun Club and the Copicut Rod & Gun Club.

Besides his wife, of 49 years, he is survived by: two children, Deborah Medeiros Kloch (husband James) of Somerset and Christine Medeiros Marshall (husband Kyle) of Cumberland, R.I.; a sister, Nancy Freeman of Dighton; five grandchildren, Kirsten Alfonso, Aaron Kloch, Jason Kloch, Nick Marshall and Madison Marshall along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Frank Falcon and Cynthia Falcon.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Somerset Funeral Home, 84 County St, Somerset on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 7:30 am to 9:00 am with strict adherence to state mandates designed to mitigate the spreading of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). All will be required to wear masks (covering both nose and mouth) and to maintain social/physical distancing while in the funeral home – with patience and understanding appreciated, in light of current restrictions on building occupancy where some may have to wait outside or in their cars for others to finish giving condolences inside.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 26th, in St. Thomas More Church, Somerset, followed by his private committal at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
