Joseph Miranda, 80, of Fall River, husband of the late Olivia (Cabral) Miranda, passed away at home on Saturday, July 22, 2023. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Antone Pacheco Miranda and the late Maria (Oliveira) Miranda, he emigrated to Fall River in the mid-1950s.

Employed at Princess House of Taunton for many years, prior to retiring a number of years ago, Joseph had also worked prior to that, during the 1970s, at Nelson's Dairy formerly of Fall River. A soccer fan, he enjoyed watching the Premier League, with Manchester United being his favorite team; and he used to play for Fall River Sports Club in his younger days. He enjoyed gardening, growing tomatoes & cucumbers, and tending his fruit trees and grape vines (from which he used to make his own wine). Joseph also enjoyed music – the late Roy Orbison was his favorite singer. But most of all, he loved his family and spending quality time with them.

Joseph is survived by: two children, Joseph Miranda, Jr. (wife Donna Novo) of Dighton and Christina Arsenault of Fall River (with whom he lived); two siblings, John Miranda of Somerset and Mary Pavao of Fall River; a grandson, Dyson; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late George Miranda who died recently (just this past December 2022).

His Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, July 26th, in our Fall River Chapel followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
