Joseph D. Morin, 91, of Somerset, passed away Sunday after an extended illness. Husband of the late Alice (Amaral) Morin. Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph and Emma Morin. A US Coast Guard veteran of WWII, he also served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. A past commander of AMVETS Post #72, he was also a life member of VFW Post #8500. He taught electronics at Diman Regional High School for many years. Joe was an avid reader and music lover of all genres from jazz to classical. He played the trumpet with the St. Anthony Band Club and the Swansea Community musicians. He was especially proud of his seven year tour of duty with the 215th Army National Guard Band. He also enjoyed singing and listening to karaoke. Beloved father of Lois and Allan Morin; brother of the late Roland Gagnon and Rita Canfield. He also leaves nieces, nephews, in-laws and his loyal canine companions, Buster and Petey. Services were held during his calling hours on Thursday, January 10, at our Somerset Chapel. Following his cremation, his cremains were interred at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
