Joseph S. Oliveira, Jr., 82, of Fall River, passed away Sunday after a brief illness. Husband of Theresa (Silvestri) Oliveira, to whom he was married for 60 years. Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph S. Oliveira, Sr. and Georgelina (Perreira-Lima) Oliveira. An army veteran of the Korean War, after working at New England Pest Control for several years, he became manager of pest control operations at the Newport Naval Base for 28 years. Joe was a member of Loggia Vittorio Veneto of the Sons of Italy and the Over The Hill Gang. Beloved father of Regina Casey (husband-Alan) and John Oliveira (wife-Kris); grandfather of Jessica (Durand) Harte (husband-James), Andrew Durand and Kelley Oliveira; brother of Mary O'Connell and the late Elzira "Elsie" Felix and George Oliveira. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, January 29th, in Holy Name Church followed by his committal with military honors at Notre Dame Cemetery.
