Joseph C. Pereira, 70, of Fall River, passed away unexpectedly in Lisbon, Portugal on April 16, 2018. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores he was a son of the late Manuel and Maria C. "Mariquinhas" (Pereira) Pereira. Joseph graduated from U-Mass Dartmouth (formerly SMU) and also attended the University of Tennessee and Brigham Young University. He was one of the top tour guides for Tauck Tours out of Connecticut for over thirty years. He had a passion for knowledge and loved to read, visit museums, and travel. Joseph was a very kind, understanding man who was always very generous with his time and money. He truly loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. His family has received many cards and condolences from friends from all over the world. He leaves: his sisters, Artemesia Pereira (late-husband Manuel) and Zelia M. Resendes (late-husband Robert), both of Fall River; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Noemia Torres and Ramiro Pereira. According to his wishes, Joseph's services were private.
