Joseph Leon Perez, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Providence. He was born in San Luis Obispo, California, a son of Delia (Castillo) Mendez and Amondo Perez. He was a soldier in the United States Army for many years until his retirement. During his distinguished military career, he attained the rank of Sargent First Class. During his military career he was a talented guitarist and musician. He played at various churches near where he was stationed including, playing the bass guitar at the Breezewood Church of God of Prophecy in Hope Mills, North Carolina, the praise and worship team at the Church of All Nations in Colorado Springs. He continued his childhood passions, trumpet and piano, all through his adulthood. After the military,  Mr. Perez began to truly enjoy life. He was a Caddie for Caddie Masters, where he was able to caddie for several celebrities, and even Caddied in the Boston during the Pro-Am Championship. Joseph enjoyed skiing and fishing. Mr. Perez was a parishioner of Waters Church in Attleboro.

He is survived: by his only son Jayden Perez of Somerset; and his brother, Amando Perez of Santa Maria, California and one niece Audrey Perez, of Santa Maria, California. Calling hours were held on Thursday, April 11th, in our Somerset Chapel. The following morning his committal with military honors took place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
