Joseph S. Almeida, 77, of Fall River, husband of Marilyn (Pacheco) Almeida, passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2020 after a long illness.

He was a son of the late Agostinho Almeida and the late Etelvina (Soares) Almeida.

He worked for the railroad for many years retiring from F &W Publications in 2005. Joseph was also a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America.

He loved gardening, fishing, watching vintage television and the gameshow network. A very private man who always placed family first, Joseph's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Besides his wife of fifty-two years, he leaves his children, Elaine Grieco and her husband, Anthony, Sharon Crowley and her husband, Scott, both of Tewksbury, and Brian Almeida of North Dartmouth; five grandchildren, Anthony Grieco, Jr., Sydney Crowley, Andrew Grieco, Morgan Crowley, and Colin Crowley; two sisters, Veneranda Almeida of Fall River, and Connie Valente and her husband, Jaime, of Somerset; many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Antonio, Eugene, and Henry Almeida.

Due to the COVID pandemic, Joseph's funeral was limited to immediate family. It consisted of a funeral mass which was celebrated on Thursday, June 11th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
