Joseph T. Carvalho, 89, of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday. He was the husband on the late Bernadette (Lizotte) Carvalho. Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph & Maria Carvalho. A WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, he worked as a jet mechanic at the Quonset Point Naval Base, RI. Joseph was a firefighter for North Kingston, RI and owned the Carvalho's Greenhouse in Fall River. He was a member of the Liberal Club and the Holy Name Society with the former St. Elizabeth's Church. Survivors include sons, Joseph A. Carvalho (wife Colleen) and John A. Carvalho, both of Fall River; daughters, Dolores Freitas (husband - Clifford) of Swansea and Bernadette Casey (widow of Michael Casey) of Somerset; a brother, William Carvalho of Fall River; a sister, Odelia "Dee" Reimer of Fall River; grandchildren, Jason, Tracy, Kristie, Kari and Jennifer; great grandchildren, Aaron, Cameron, Marissa and Mason; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Manuel Carvalho, Elson Carvalho, Elsie Fitzsimmons, Deolinda Pereira, Hilda Silvia and Mary Carvalho. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, August 21, in Holy Trinity Parish Church. A committal service with military honors followed at Notre Dame Cemetery.
