Joseph "Al" Travers, Sr., 90, of Fall River, died on April 23, 2008 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Husband of Adeline (Gaspar) Travers. Born in Fall River, son of the late Manuel & Clarina (Belliveau) Tavares. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Employed by DPW of Fall River for 32 years. Father of Joseph "Fred" Travers, Jr., (wife Karen), Janice Goulet and the late Mary Beth Travers, grandfather of Joseph A. Travers, III, Scott R. Travers and Danielle D. Almeida, great grandfather of Tiffany Nicole Travers and Marissa Travers. He was also husband of the late Constance (Michaud) Travers. HIs funeral Mass was celebrated at St Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers were Joseph Travers III, Scott Travers, Louis Almeida, David Furtado, Joseph Gaspar and Josh Souza. Committal Service was held at St. Patrick Cemetery.
