Josephine Cortez, 68, of Fall River, former wife of Jose Colon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Emma Rivera and the late Arsenio Cortez.

She loved shopping and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. But, most importantly, Josephine was a kind, gentle and good-hearted woman and also a very devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.

She leaves: her loving children, Tanya Colon and Victor Morales, both of Fall River; her granddaughter, Ashley Carrion; great-granddaughter, Julian Carrion; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service was held on Thursday, February 4th, during a visitation period in our Fall River Chapel followed by a private committal the next day at Oak Grove Cemetery.
