Josephine "Tuda" Machado, 80, of Fall River, wife of Robert D. Machado, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20th 2018, after a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Helena (Valton) Purcell. She was a seamstress in the local textile industry for many years prior to her retirement.
An awesome cook, she also loved baking, entertaining and the Holidays, especially her favorite, Christmas. Josephine was the most generous, kind-hearted, woman who would always see the best in people. A devoted wife, mother, and sister, she held family to be most important.
Besides her husband, of fifty-six years, she leaves: her beloved son, Robert Machado of Fall River; her sisters, Edna Dennis (late-husband Joseph), Elizabeth Kaliff (late-husband Jack) of Westport, and Cynthia Costa and her husband Carlos of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Martin, Mickey, and Jimmy Purcell.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday,  September 25th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
